The 13 Days of CREEPMAS

A reaction to the continuing incursion of Christmas into Autumn and Halloween, CREEPMAS is a good-natured chance for Halloween lovers to exact revenge by bringing some spooky good cheer into the holidays or, more appropriately, the Hallowdays

How to Participate

Participation is easy, and come in two primary forms:


Be a Creeper

Following the methodology of the Countdown to Halloween, The 13 Days of Creepmas is open to any blog or website that posts spooky content from December 1 - 13 (we call you Creepers). While the primary focus is on permuted and subverted holiday imagery and traditions (i.e., giving Christmas the Jack Skellington treatment), Creepers are welcome to post *any* spooky material to qualify as participants. The main thing is to bring that Halloween Spirit into the first 2 weeks of December, just as every store in America has brought Christmas into October.

If you'd like to add your blog or website to the festivities, either leave a comment, tweet Chad via the Cult of the Great Pumpkin or email Chad with your blog/site's name and link, then grab the button code from the home page and add it to your blog/site to let the world know you're a bona fide CREEPER!

Following the methodology of Drawlloween/InkTober, make and post art following a set of daily prompts - more information on that is HERE, including the current list of daily prompts.

The usual disclaimers apply

No porn, no hate, no idiocy. This is about how YOU are getting creepily creative for the Hallowdays, not how you can ruin it for somebody else. Any blogs found to be engaging or promoting sabotage, vandalism, etc. will be removed.

    Due to various health and computer issues, I didn't manage to get through my 100 Gruesome Games for Halloween this year..I'd happily hold off on putting the 48 I still have to go through up until the start of December, and help bring some extra creepiness into Christmas! :)

    Count me in again, this year. I participated last year, and I got more visits to my blog than I ever had before. In fact, 5 of my top 10 all time most visited blog posts were from last year's Creepmas.

    This year, I'm making a series of mock posters, reimagining classic family Christmas movies like "A Christmas Story" and "It's a Wonderful Life" as horror movies. I'll also be reviewing Christmas related horror movies and TV shows.
